HISTORY
The Volks story began in 1973. In 1980, AKM, Inc. was formed, with Volks Constructors as a merit shop division. The AKM name came from “All Kings Men” and the term Volks is German for “folks” — a nod to the “people-focused” mentality around which the company was formed.
Over the past 51 years the Volks family has seen many changes in our industry and company. The construction market in the early 2000s presented great challenges, but through proper management and dedicated personnel, Volks emerged a stronger company, exceptionally committed to delivering the services our clients expect.
